Why is ice slippery? That is definitely something that we all take for granted. Ice is just slippery because it is right? I can honestly say that I haven't thought about it a great deal. You just know to be careful when you are walking or driving on ice. It turns out that there are a lot of different thoughts and possible reasons why ice is slippery. It's seems odd that we have made so many other scientific achievements and yet aren't sure what makes something as simple (or not-so-simple apparently) as ice slippery. Anyway, I'm not scientist and I don't claim to know either way but below are a few links for you to look into the situation yourself if you want to.

This is certainly an unusual thing to think about at the end of May when it's 30 degrees C outside. Interresting though.
